Fuzzy Galore's Knitted Fuzzy Bag

Yarn: Crystal Palace Iceland #1219 Fushia, Crystal Palace Fizz #7129 Pinata
What I Learned: This was my first felting/fulling project
Comments: I have been wanting a pink purse for a long time, and I could never find one that spoke to me. I came across this free pattern on the Fuzzy Galore website. They sell the entire line of Crystal Palace yarn, and their free patterns are great. Marie-Christine, the owner, was very helpful in answering my questions about the pattern. I love the purse. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the eyelash is fushia, lime green, and bright orange. My DH Kevin says it is "me".

Do you see a trend...????

I just got two packages in the mail today, one from Hershnerrs and the other from Fuzzy Galore. Until I took them out of the box, I hadn't realized that I maybe favoring a certain color lately...hmmmmm.

The ribbon and the boucle' are for a shrug and sweater that are in the current issue of Knit.1. The wool and the eyelash are to finish a felted purse that I have already started. I needed extra to make it a bit bigger.

First knitting group meeting

The girls and I went to our first knitting group (SnB) meeting this morning. It was a hoot. It was so nice to visit with people who don't think you are a weirdo for knitting.

Knitting Acronyms

I guess I'm just not hip with the knitting lingo. I received an email from a fellow knitter that had IMHO in the text. Not wanting to look out of the loop, I pretended to know exactly what she ment. I then did a mad search on the internet for knitting acronyms. Click here for my results. Now we all can act like we're with the program!

New magazines

This week I got not one, but two new knitting magazines. I picked up the new Knit.1 at Barnes and Noble on Saturday and my Rebecca #29 came in on Monday. I am simply gaga over both. Knit.1 has edgy, funky, and fun projects. All of the patterns are knit with Lion Brand yarn, which fits my yarn budget nicely.

If you ever get a chance, you should go to Knitty's coffeeshop and read some of the comments people make about this magazine. Some knitters are actually offended by the patterns and the yarn. Give me a break! I hate it when people think that anything "new" and "different" is bad. Some people like more cutting edge fashion (like me). Does that mean I'm not worthy of being in the knitting community...just because I don't want to knit a prim little twinset...whatever. Unlike the knitting snobs out there, I can appreciate both traditional and more current knitting. I think anything that supports the craft and brings more people in to our folds, the better.

The new Rebecca is gorgeous. I bit more conservative, but still loads of cool things. The only drawback I see to this mag is the price ($16.95) and that the yarns used are expensive and hard to come across.

Lauren's comments

Thank you for your comments Lauren. When I receive your emails, it won't allow me to write you back because they are coming from Blogger and not you personally.

Were you the one that made a comment on my Tempting? If so, I wrote you this long email with comments and helpful hints about the pattern. Of course, it didn't go through. I would love to correspond with you if you would like to send me your email address.

Again, thanks for checking out my blog.

New books

This week ordered and received two new knitting books, "Last-Minute Knitted Gifts" and "Weekend Knitting". They both have a lot of great patterns and helpful tips. By the way, don't you just loved getting stuff in the mail? It is like sending yourself a present.
