Two FO's in two days!

Pattern: Fiber Trends Valerie & Friend
Yarn: Rowan Calmer #484 Lucky - less than one ball
What I Learned: Knitted on I-cord
Comments: Is this not the cutest pattern EVER! I knit this for Sheryl's step-daughter who is expecting in June. If y'all haven't used Calmer in a project, drop everything this minute and go buy some. It's absolutely scrumptious!

Ringlet

(click on picture to see lace detail)

Pattern: Ringlet from Louisa Harding's Swallowtails
Yarn: Louisa Harding Flotsam #3 (discontinued color)

What I Learned: Pressing cotton, especially lace, makes for a beautiful fabric

Notes: I made Ringlet as a shop sample for Yarntopia. I really, really like it. The design is sort of a departure for me. I'm not a big lace knitting fan, but this pattern really called to me. It would be a great project for a beginning lace/sweater knitter. It is really just made of two large squares of lace (front and back) and two small squares of lace (the sleeves).

Yarntopia's first anniversary and a plea for help

I can't believe it has been a year since Yarntopia opened its doors. It has been a thrilling year, and I'm so glad that y'all have been along for the ride. If you go to our website, you can check out the pictures from the big event.

Now for the plea for help. We are trying to get Kim Werker, the force behind Crochetme.com and the new editor of Interweave Crochet, to make a stop and Yarntopia and do a book signing. Would all of y'all PLEASE go vote on this website to let her editors know that we would love her come to Houston. Thanks!!
