My first plea for help

Sheryl and I (well, mainly Sheryl) are working on the financial and marketing portion of our business plan. It would help us out tremendously if y'all could tell us what types of projects/materials you buy during an average month. For example, if you bought the materials to make 2 scarves and a sweater and also a Vogue Knitting within the last 30 days, you would mark a 2 by scarf, a 1 by sweater, and a 1 by magazine. Thank you so much for your help!!

This month was a little atypical because of my birthday... and I had a gift card -- I spent that on books!

Take care, Amylovie ;)

Hmm, for an average month, I'd say
2 socks
1 misc. projects (tops, bags)
1 pattern
1 book/magazine
I'd have to say that I'm like Lynda, though. Minimal stash, though I'd love for that to change! :-) Looking forward to hearing more updates about Yarntopia. Again, best wishes to you and Sheryl!

Donna brought up a good point: notions! (get it, point? eee, I am corny) I have bought two sets of DPNs, and one set of circs in the past month. I also always seem to walk out with some little thing like a pompom maker, cable needles, a row counter, etc.

3 scarf
1/2 sweater (1 every 2 months or so)
1/2 poncho/wrap (same as above)
4-6 socks (yep, I'm nuts)
6 misc projects
2-3 patterns
3 books/magazines
1/2 kits & gifts (see above)

4 Scarf
4 Misc. Projects
1 Patterns
1 Books/Magazines

Though that includes all my holiday gift yarn, so the first 2 numbers are a little higher than they would be in the average month. And I probably buy a sweater's worth of yarn every 2-3 months.

wow people are spending a lot on yarn monthly! I thought I was bad.. hehe

Scarf (1 a month in November)

Sweater (1 a month in october)

Poncho/Wrap (Never!)

Socks (like enough for 3 or 4 pairs this month because I'm learning in october)

Misc. Projects (enough yarn for 2 pars of fingerless mittens in October)

Patterns (I bought the Magic Loop Booklet this month, I don't buy a ton of patterns)

Books/Magazines (I got stitch N bitch nation in November, I had wanted it for a while, I don't buy more then one book a month for sure, cheap online patterns are a different matter (chicknits, annie modiest etc))

Kits & Gift Items (enough yarn for 2 hats in october for moms to be at work)

oh I buy alteast one set of needles a month, sometimes DPN's, sometimes circs in a new size, I now am in love with Addi Natura's but I only have 2 so I will probably buy more of those in the future. In october I bought 2 sets of the mini clover 8" circs, and in november I got a bunch of DPN's I am now not going to use because I learned Magic Loop!

I'm with Pixie on this, I thought I was being naughty, but apparently, not so much. LOL
My stash is so ridiculous, that I can go for several months without buying any yarn, but I'll give you my last 2 month's purchases, which are also 'learning socks months'- and this is for 2 knitters, not one.

5 Pairs of Socks
1 Sweater
1 Novelty Ribbon Yarn no project
1 Scarf
1 Smaller to be determined project
2 Sets of Circs
1 Set of Learners Needles for DD
