First Christmas present

Pattern: Violette from French Girl
Yarn: Rowan Big Wool color #10
Needles: #17 16" Addi Turbos, #17 Brittany Birch DPNs
Comments: I made this for my grandmother for Christmas. Blue is her favorite color. Although it is hard to tell, there are cables at the bottom of the hat. The ribbon is threaded through them. Again, I've got to sing the praises of French Girl's patterns. They are easy and stylish, what more could a girl ask for? Consider my frightening face a Halloween gift to all of you! :)

So cute! It looks great on you - you should make one for yourself! I've always wanted to be a "hat person" but, alas I look like such a dork in a hat...

Amy, Super cute hat! Did you use a pattern or make it up? I love the ribbon idea!

Also, thanks for the welcome on the cable knitalong site. It is also nice to meet another TX knitter - especially to share pattern ideas appropriate for TX!

Tres Chic! Your grandma will love it, and I agree, you should make one for yourself - after the Christmas knitting is over that is!
