Lured to the Dark Side

My good friend Sheryl is taking me there. For my birthday, she offered to give me crochet lessons. That is a big enough gift in itself right? Oh, no. Not Sheryl. She had to also give me the most gorgeous hand-turned tulipwood crochet hook, some Blue Sky Alpaca Cotton, and a darling pattern for a crocheted belt. That's it. I'm sold, or should I say hooked. She also threw in some heavenly scented bath salts, French lemonade (which is already gone), and dark chocolate.

Happy Belated Birthday to you! What wonderful birthday gifts! That Blue Sky Alpaca Cotton is gorgeous and I love the cute belt pattern. I've never tried French lemonade, but judging by the fact that it's already gone, it must be divine. :-) BTW, I really like the socks you made for your DH. My DH's foot is the same size as mine...which is good for sock knitting, but otherwise makes me feel a bit like Sasquatch.

Crochet isn't all bad. Some of the designs from the two Interweave magazines are so incredible I can't believe they're crochet! Have fun learning. Crochet goes fast, too.

...I've heard they have cookies... (the dark side, not crocheters in general) ;o)

Good luck learning - just don't go overboard and *only* crochet. 'Cuz then I'd have to stop talking to you ;o)

You'll have to let me know about the Alpaca Cotton. I think Mary Charles carries it and I'm curious to know how it works up.

Crochet is fun too! I don't enjoy it as much as knitting, but it does have its uses!

It's okay if you want to crochet.... a little. And, if you're gonna use Blue Sky Alpaca, then go for it!

Dark side? Who knows there may be a closet crocheter just waiting to break free!

I crochet and knit, and I love them both. I also think all knitters should learn to crochet and crocheters knit.

Knowning both opens up so many things.
