2006 - Flotsam - Love

Looking back on my blog posts from the past year, I realized that I really knit a lot last year (30 items to be exact). Not as much as some of the knit bloggers I read, but I was still proud of myself. The list is just for me to remind myself that I am able to accomplish things. Sometimes everyone needs to pat themselves on the back.

8 Hats
3 Wraps/Shawls
10 Sweaters
3 Bags
4 Socks/Slippers
2 Bracelets

Now for my first knit of 2007....drum roll please....

Pattern: A custom pattern I printed up from the computer program Sweater Wizard

Yarn: Louisa Harding Flotsam #4

Comments: When I put this yarn on the shelf when we opened the store, I knew that this yarn would be mine. The color combination is my absolute favorite, robin egg blue and brown. This is a really interesting yarn too. The base of it is like cotton interfacing. It has a string of blue with little slubs of cotton and it is all bound together with a gold string. The effect knit up is really cool. As an added bonus, it is washable! Plus, with it being mainly cotton, it will be a great sweater for our mild Houston winters.

Now, on to love. Today is my eleventh wedding anniversary. Boy, have the years flown. It has been a wonderful ride. I love you Kevin.

Happy Anniversary! Wow, you have knit a lot this year! Very impressive. Nice sweater too. I've been trying to justify a Louisa Harding purchase since your store opened. It seemed so luxurious and it looks wonderful knit up!

A friend has a sweater from Anthropologie in a similar yarn!

And you are adorable and beautiful in your wedding shot! You are looking at Kevin with such love in your eyes, too--it's an awesome shot.

Happy Anniversary! It looks like the twins take after him?

I knit the store swatch for that yarn and everyone made fun of it but I was intrigued by it--it's so unique! And yes, there is something so awesome about those colors together.

I am writing this from Aunt Kathy's house. We should be home by this evening.

Congratulations sweetie! What a beautiful couple you too made (and are). Fabulous day for a wedding also (Epiphany).

Boy, I wish I was talented and efficient enough to run a store, run a household, raise 2 daughters, stay so chic and pretty >wink<, AND knit 30 items. WOW!

I pay you homage!

Happy anniversary!

I like the sweater and the yarn you chose. I've been looking for a yarn that looks like that but in a different color. I'm glad you posted this. Now I know where to look

I know I should focus on the sweater (it looks great and really wearable!), but you have such a cute look on your face in that photo. And you and Kevin look so supremely happy in your wedding photo -- it's no wonder it has lasted 11 years with ease.

I hope you will take it as simply curiosity, not rudenss, when I ask you what your natural hair color is. Brown and blond both suit you.
