Brigitte

Pattern: Brigitte from French Girl
Yarn: Body-Rowan Cotton Braid #356, Tassels-Rowan Summer Tweed #530
Comments:What drew me to this pattern, other than the fact that I love all the French Girl patterns, is the tassels on the bottom. I am a sucker for tassels. My mother had a skirt when I was growing up that had tassels on it that I admired.

I feel a bit exotic when I wear this. I love how it is subtly sexy. Yea for sassy knitting patterns!

This was a very easy pattern to knit and it is perfect for any of y'all who are looking for something handknit that you can wear during the sweltering summer.

First of all, you have to remember that I have dial-up, so things load very slowly, especially pictures. I was getting nervous as the picture starts at your neck and scrolls slowly down, showing a lovely, lacey knit with only skin under it. It was definitely looking VERY sassy. I was relieved when it finally got to the tank top.

I don't know what happened to that skirt with the tassels. I loved it too. I must have finally worn it out. We could recreate a similar one. It was made from fabric that was relatively loosely woven. The last few inches were raveled out and then the vertical threads were tied into tassels. I'll keep my eye out for something like it. Then you could knit a top to go with it. TA-DA!

Amy, that's simply beautiful! (It looks even better on you than it did on the pattern!) You sure have a knack for picking patterns that look great and are a bit out of the ordinary-- really, really pretty!

I LOVE that top!

I've got a cotton braid halter that needs to be recycled - I'm off to search out the pattern.

Take care and well done on the opening of Yarntopia!
