Occasionally I have time to knit

But not much lately. I've had my eye on this hat ever since I saw the pattern. I whipped it up for a store model in give or take 3 days. I love it! Unfortunately, the chances of wearing it in the Houston climate are slim. Oh well. Maybe I will just crank the AC down to freezing so I can walk around in my sassy beret.

Pattern: Striped Beret from Louisa Harding's Gathering of Roses- The Accessories Collection
Yarn: Hat-Louisa Harding Kashmir DK in #11 black & #1 cream
Rosette-Louisa Harding Kimono Angora & Kimono Ribbon in #6
Notes: The Kashmir is now one of my favorite yarns of all time. The feel of it is very similar to DB cashmerino, but it is has a chain construction. Very cool.

You are SO stylin'!!! Kaity made a beret, and I tried it on, and we laughed so hard we had to pick ourselves up off the floor. I'm NOT a hat person, but I sooooo wish I was!

Amy - it looks even better than the one pictured in the book. Seriously. You can always wear it when you make it up to Maryland!

The hat looks great, and it looks great on you too. I, like Lynda, am not a hat person (wish I was though).

Cute hat, but the photo of you, uh, you take better photos than that!

I'm half done with the cap sleeve top. I should have it there next week. Missy also gave me the left over Yarntopia silk to deliver to you.

Hey! I saw that hat today! :D I love how it matches your top. You wear hats well - too bad Houston is so hot! I guess you can wear it for our 6 days of winter next year!

Yeah, I was going to switch yarns and colors for that one but I after seeing yours I think black and white is the way to go! It's adorable, and slightly bad-ass, like a pirate or a jailbird!

I always admire warm weather knitters, and also wish they could enjoy the lengthy bitter cold of my beloved New England. SO MANY KNITS NECESSARY!

I really like it. Maybe it will get cold enough in winter? Maybe you have an excuse to vacation somwhere it snows?
